The Vilas County Sheriff's Office is responsible for all civil processes in the county. The processes include civil process papers for any evictions, small claims, court notices, court appearances, foreclosures, and any other civil action that requires verifiable notification of a party involved. The Civil Process Division is also in charge of all Sheriff's sales as well as any open records requests.

 

  • Paper service: $75 each person served, prepayment required.

  • Evictions: $75 per eviction, prepayment required. 

  • Sheriff Sales: $150 each sale, nonrefundable, prepayment required.

  • Record Search Fee: $5.00, payment required submitted with your request.

  • Incident Report Fee: $5.00, payment required submitted with your request. If the report exceeds 12

                                      pages in length, an additional charge of $0.25 per page will be billed to you. 

  • CD/DVD's: $10.00 each, payment required submitted with your request.

  • Thumb Drive: $20.00 each, payment required submitted with your request.

  • Audio/Digital Evidence: Hourly rate of pay for researcher. 

  • CAD Call: $0.25 per call, payment required submitted with your request.

NOTE: Certain records maintained by the Vilas County Sheriff's Office are considered "EXEMPT FROM DISCLOSURE". If exempt records are requested, the requestor will be advised of the same and the basis for the denial of access. Records exempt from disclosure would include reports which are still under investigation or haven't been through the court system and certain employee personnel records. Juvenile information is not released by the Vilas County Sheriff's Office. This information will be blocked out on the record before being released.

 

Request for access, copies, or information may be presented either verbally or in writing. The request must be reasonably specific to aide in the location of the requested records. Some records request may require additional time to research.
